Welcome! I am so glad that you are here. My name is Mindy and I am an addict in recovery. I was just recently released from being incarcerated for the last four years minus a few months for good behavior. When I was arrested, my life had become unmanageable and completely insane. My world was on fire and everything was burning to the ground. I honestly could not see the wreckage of my life through the ashes. Through recovery, the world I lived in full of fire and ash has turned into a world of beauty that I had never known before. This is the story of my personal recovery. I will tell you how I hit my bottom, what life was like then and what makes it different now. I will chronicle the daily triumphs and struggles of someone who is reentering society in recovery. My hope is that this blog will help others who are in recovery, those who have recently been released from incarceration, help inform those who have loved ones getting ready to be released and inform those who are simply unaware of what it's like for people like us reentering society.
